• News Item Text Structure


To make news item text easy to read, you need to pay attention to these three important structures. The general structure of news item text is newsworthy event, background event, and source. Here's the explanation:


Newsworthy event


Newsworthy event means that an event to be written must have news value. One of the elements is actuality. Recent events clearly have a higher news value than old events.


Event background


Background event or background is an explanation of the events reported. The event background contains 5W + 1H to make it easier for readers to understand the news.


Source


Source or sources are very important to include. Source as a sign that events are factual and trustworthy. News can come from eyewitnesses, expert opinions, or library material

Of course, we often find written types in various print media such as tabloids or daily newspapers. For spoken news items, we often listen to them from electronic media such as radio or television.
